History
The “Christine J” was previously known as Alma G11. It was built by Alf Jahnsen for Wiley and Wellsley Gregory the operators of the old Forster/Tuncurry vehicular ferry and began operating in 1948.
Alma G11 ended up in Newcastle working for the CSIRO before Dave Adams bought her in the 1960’s. She was used to run fishing charters in Port Hacking.
In 1995 Don Adams (Dave’s son) had the vessel restored to ferry status by Shoalhaven boat builder John Hopcroft. The vessel has been operating on the Shoalhaven and Crookhaven Rivers ever since.
